ILYA OSTROUKHOV (1858–1929) Ilya Ostroukhov was born in Moscow. He took private classes (1880–1884) and was a painter, a scene-painter and a collector. Ostroukhov was a member of the Society of Traveling Art Exhibitions (since 1891), the Union of Russian Artists (since 1903), a full member of the Academy of Arts (1906). He was a participant of the Abramtsevo Colony since 1880. In Abramtsevo he painted landscapes, took part in the amateur performances. Nowadays the Abramtsevo Museum preserves the artist's pictures in its collection. Â
